Gear Up Cycling Studio COVID-19 Safety Plan

              As of September 2020, Gear Up Cycling Studio has maintained the following operational procedures in accordance with the BCCDC (Ministry of Health) guidelines to reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission.  Gear Up Cycling Studio is located inside Rep1 Fitness (3313 W Broadway, Vancouver, BC V6R 2B). Gear Up Cycling Studio adheres to Rep1 Fitness’ Safety Plan and adds the following safety protocols for its own unique operations.

Room Configuration
  • Six Stationary Bikes (2 rows of 3 bikes) separated by 2 meters.

  • Transparent Barriers suspended between each stationary bike, which also covers the frontal area of the rider.

  • Ventilation and fans are constantly on before, during, and after the session to ensure proper air-flow.

  • Individual fans for each rider pointing in opposing directions.

COVID-19 Safety Protocol
Booking

          Our safety protocols start right from when our clients book a session. Below is a screen capture of a web form that clients fill out when they book a session.

 

Note that sessions and session attendees’ records are kept in our booking system, which allows for quick and accurate contact tracing when necessary.

Supplies
  • Disposable masks are stocked at the studio in case a client comes without one.

  • Gloves are stocked for use during cleaning and handling client towels after use.

  • In addition to Rep 1 Fitness stock, Gear Up Cycling Studio also stocks its own hand sanitizer.

Coaches
  • Coaches wear masks at all times.

  • Coaches make bike adjustments prior to the session to reduce close contact with clients

  • Coaches wear gloves when touching bikes and when handling client towels.

  • Coaches use hand sanitizer before and after touching bikes.

  • Bike sanitization: Cleaned BEFORE and AFTER each class by the coach.

Clients
  • Client temperature is checked with a temperature gun and must be below 37 Degrees Celsius in order to attend the session.

  • Clients must have a mask on when they are off the bike or are unable to maintain 2-meters physical distancing

  • Clients are given hand-sanitizer before and after each session

  • Clients are asked a questionnaire before entering the studio to confirm they can attend the studio session

  • Fever

  • New or worsening cough

  • Sore throat/painful swallowing

  • Difficulty breathing

  • Diarrhea

  • Nausea and/or vomiting

  • Fatigue

  • Muscle aches

  • Loss of appetite

  • Chills

  • Headache

  • Loss of sense of smell

     2. Have you traveled outside of Canada, including the United States, within the last 14 days?

 

     3. Have you been in close contact with someone who has a confirmed COVID-19 diagnosis within the last 14 days?

 

     4. Have you been told to self-isolate in accordance with Public Health directives?
